Purpose: The Bernabi Outdoor Adventure club gives 3rd-5th grade students an opportunity to participate in planned enrichment activities that encourage life-long physical activity, teamwork and a love of the outdoors. This club will work on the basic essentials to survival.  These include: map and compass work, shelter building, how to find food and water, trail work, and campfire building (minus the fire). 

 

Listed below are some possible activities for the Outdoor Adventure Club:

• building shelters (fair weather and winter)

• scavenger hunt using a map and compass

• games that help teach about hypothermia

• different ways to collect water
