Greetings from Bernabi where we are entering the home stretch of the school year!  While we continue to prepare ourselves for next year, there is still a lot to look forward in the coming days, weeks and months!  Just a few updates below—thank you for taking a look and staying connected to us here at Bernabi!

Students in grades 3 – 5 will be taking the NYS math assessment next week on Wednesday May 2 and Thursday May 3.  As we did with ELA, these assessments will be administered via students’ laptops and all grade levels will be running on a slightly modified schedule for these two days.

Our Spring Concert is also coming up, scheduled for 7:00 pm on Wednesday night, May 9, on the big stage at Cosgrove Middle School!  As our fifth graders prepare to transition to their new school, Mrs. Swarthout and I knew that having our Spring Concert there would be something fun and exciting for all to look forward to.  Our chorus and show choir are also a part of a great show we have planned, so we hope to see you there!

Save the date! The BPA's annual fundraiser, Game On: Mother/Son Sports Night is right around the corner on Friday, May 11th from 6pm-9pm. Ticket order forms will arrive home this coming week.  For this event, you must order your tickets in advance and will not be able to purchase tickets at the door. Get them early so you don't miss out on the main attraction, new this year, Foam Darts Xtreme!

For those of you who have an incoming kindergartner, don’t forget about Kindergarten Screening!  We are offering a total of 10 sessions from Wednesday, May 9 through Friday, May 11.  During this time, your kiddo will work with some of our teachers while you stay with me and learn a little more about our school, our faculty and staff and what a day in the life of a kindergartner looks like!

It is my pleasure to announce that Teacher Appreciation Week is coming!  Please join me at any point during the week of Monday May 7 through Friday May 11 in celebrating the incredible work of our entire faculty and staff, all of whom are teachers, no matter their individual roles in the building!

Last, but certainly not least, a reminder to save the date for Bernabi's annual Flag Day/Field Day/Picnic on Friday, June 15.  More details to come!

That’s all for now—thank you for your ongoing support!

Sincerely,

David Caiazza
