Greetings from Bernabi where despite the weather, we’re heating up the school with our hard work each and every day!  I have a few important updates for you below, so thank you in advance for taking a look and staying connected with us!

As you have probably seen through social media, one of our consultant teachers, Mrs. Tracey D’Alonzo has transitioned into her new role as assistant principal at Cosgrove, where your children will immediately have someone in their corner upon their arrival to the middle school!  Covering Mrs. D’Alonzo’s caseload here at Bernabi is a very familiar face, Mr. Kyle Kita who has been a part of the Bernabi team for the last two years in a variety of roles.  Thank you for offering him a warm Bernabi welcome!

Are you familiar with MySchoolBucks?  As you hopefully are aware, Spencerport has a pretty modern food service program that includes a variety of healthy options for breakfast and lunch as well as additional snacks available for purchase.  If your family is looking for a way to more closely monitor how often your children are purchasing food at school, consider utilizing your MySchoolBucks online account.  Not only will the system send you e-mails when your account gets low, you can electronically add funds to your accounts without ever having to send cash in with your children!  Click here for more information and if you have any questions, please contact Andrea Romano in Food Services at 349-5190.

Bernabi girls: save the date, the Bernabi Parents Association presents: “A Magical Winter Wonderland Sweetheart Dance” on Friday, February 8 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.  We will have a DJ, light refreshments and a photo opportunity!  The cost is $15.00 per family (cash or check) and don’t forget to bring a little extra cash for flowers, balloons and raffle tickets available for purchase that night.  Informational fliers came home last week, so be on the lookout and RSVP your place ASAP!

A very quick reminder that Bernabi will be implementing the Raptor Visitor Management System next week!  An official update will be coming your way via e-news, so stay tuned and please read!

I’d like to end this update with another incredible video that some of our students put together in working with Mrs. Gurz.  Did you know that published author James Kennedy holds a short film contest each year, where he challenges students to take a Newbery Award winning book and turn it into a 90 second video?  Some of our fourth graders took on the challenge with Because of Winn Dixie, click here and check it out!

Sincerely,

David Caiazza
