Greetings from Bernabi where transitions are one of our main focal points at this time of the year.

First: please join me in welcoming Linda Barnard back to the Bernabi community as our new administrative assistant!  Linda started her career in the Spencerport Schools working in a few different roles here at Bernabi before working as an instructional aide at Terry Taylor Elementary for the last few years.  I could not be more pleased to have her join our office team, so please be sure to introduce yourself when you hear her answer the phone or see her in person!

With respect to student transitions, I wanted to send a quick thank you to those who have submitted their parent input cards for our placement process—we read them all!  Bernabi has an extremely in-depth and collaborative process to ensure that each child is placed in the best setting with the right supports to meet the variety of learning styles and needs that exist within our school.  This process wouldn’t be complete without your input!

As we prepare to transition school years, I wanted to send along a reminder about a few important dates:

- Friday, May 24: No school
- Monday, May 27: No school
- Thursday, June 6: Half day for students, dismissal at noon
- Friday, June 14: Flag Day/Field Day/Family Picnic
- Thursday, June 20 at 10:00 am: Fifth Grade Moving Up Ceremony
- Thursday, June 20 at 2:30 pm: Kindergarten Graduation
- Friday, June 21: Students’ last day

Last but not least: thank you for all of the love and support you offered this week in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week.  Every individual in this building works extremely hard to support your children and it makes me so happy to know that their efforts are recognized and appreciated!  I was fortunate enough to capture a few of your sentiments on video and wanted to share with you what I put together for our faculty and staff.  Click here and enjoy!

Sincerely,

David Caiazza
