Update from Bernabi

March 23, 2018

Greetings from Bernabi where, no matter what the temperature reads, Spring is in the air!  It is certainly a busy time of year at school, and I have a few updates for you below.

First and foremost: it’s report card day!  While I doubt these scheduled updates will yield any surprises, report cards are a great way for school and home to connect, celebrate growth and success and collaborate on a plan to close out the year on a strong note.  Thank you in advance for taking time this weekend to sit with your child, review his or her report card together and talk about what you see.  Feel free to ask your child questions about grades, teacher comments and social development ratings because one thing I know for sure: even if you’re slightly surprised by something, your child should never be!

Next up: this week we celebrated World Down Syndrome Day at Bernabi and it was awesome!  As you may remember from earlier updates, one of Bernabi’s school wide focuses this entire school year through PBIS has been celebrating what makes us all individuals and all unique.  It was great to celebrate diversity as an entire school and watch faculty and students unite in love!

Last but not least, and believe it or not, Spring Break is right around the corner!  A reminder that there is no school next Friday, March 30 and all of the following week.  Whether your family is staying local or traveling for the break, please feel free to e-mail me a picture or two so that I can post them on Instagram using the hashtag #SpringBreak.

That’s all for now, but I do hope to see you all tonight at the BPA Easter Egg-Stravaganza!  Pizza, drinks, crafts and activities will be available from 6:00 – 7:30 pm and our annual Easter egg hunt will begin at 7:00 pm.  If you haven’t purchased tickets yet, worry not, you can buy them at the door at a cost of $3.00 per person.  Sarah, Angelo, Michela and I will be there--hope to see you too!

Sincerely,

David Caiazza
