Update from Bernabi

Greetings from Bernabi where, despite the warmer, drier and sunnier weather, I’m buried in hats, gloves, boots and lots more winter weather gear!  If your child happens to be missing any item of clothing, please be sure to stop into Bernabi and check out our immense collection of things lost and found, located in our front hallway outside of the cafeteria!  As we do each year, items that continue to go unclaimed will be donated at the end of this month.

Love baseball?  We have two opportunities for you and your family to enjoy a Redwings game along with the Bernabi community.  The first is this coming Wednesday night, May 22 at 7:00 pm when our Bernabi chorus will be performing, and the second is on Friday evening, June 14 for our annual BPA Bernabi night (more info to follow)!  Hope to see you all out at the ballpark!

A reminder for parents of 5th grade students: You received a letter a few weeks back regarding the placement exam for 6th grade accelerated math. This exam will be administered on the morning of Tuesday, May 21st.  Eligibility for the accelerated program is based on multiple criteria including 5th grade common assessments, performance on the 5th grade final exam, and performance on this accelerated math entrance exam.

Last but not least, a reminder about the upcoming holiday weekend, which means that we have two four-day weeks in a row on the horizon.  Please be sure you have marked your calendars: there is no school on Friday, May 24 or on Monday, May 27.

That’s all for this week—have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

David Caiazza
Principal
