Greetings from Bernabi where the first week of school has come to a close, but not before new friendships and beautiful memories have been made!  While there is so much I could say, I will keep my words brief and continue to allow my Instagram pictures do most of my talking!  Be sure to follow us at bernabi_elementary!

A few quick notes as we kick off a busy month:

An important reminder for all Bernabi families: we are encouraging all birthday celebrations to become food free.  We hope not to discourage you from celebrating your child’s birthday and ask that you consider the following items if you wish to set up a celebration with your child’s teacher: bubbles, books, games, puzzles, pens, pencils, erasers or goodie bags with any other non-food items.

Don't forget to check out the BPA apparel sale, where you can make sure you have a year-round collection of Bernabi swag!  The online store closes September 13 at 8 am, son don't delay!  Click here to start your shopping!

Picture day is coming, so mark your calendars: Tuesday, September 24.  More details will come home from your child's homeroom teacher, but be on the lookout for a fall promo that introduces digital image delivery on Shutterfly!

As you may remember from last year, we are partnering with the Bivona Child Advocacy Center to implement the "Child Safety Matters" curriculum, which entails two lessons at each grade level K-5.  Lessons will be starting for grades 3-5 next week, followed by K-2 later this fall.  If you are interested in learning more, please contact your child's homeroom teacher or click here for more information.

I would like to close with a tremendous and sincere thank you to this entire community for your active involvement, engagement and partnership in all we do.  It has been wonderful seeing so many of your faces at our many kick off events and I always enjoy taking your calls and e-mails.  Thank you for your constant support in making Bernabi an important part of this community!

Sincerely,

David Caiazza
