Greetings from Bernabi where things could not be better! It is such a pleasure to move around the building and see happy and engaged learners across all settings!
As you have seen through our many Instagram accounts, school spirit and Ranger pride are in full swing, and just in time for our district’s big week! Next week is Spencerport’s homecoming and to celebrate we are having a School Spirit Day on Friday, September 27. Wear your Blue and Gold Rangers/Bernabi gear to show your Spencerport Pride! We would also love to have our students participate in the Homecoming Parade this year. Details are coming home in your child’s backpack on Friday, so please be on the lookout and help to represent Bernabi in the parade next weekend! We have a banner and everything! #OneCommunity #OneBernabi
For parents whose children took the 3-5 NYS Assessments last spring: individual score reports are on their way home this week for ELA and Math. Accompanying the reports is a letter that describes how we use your child’s assessments results as one of the many data points to ensure we are meeting his/her academic needs. Please remember that this score report does not tell the whole story on what your child knows and can do, and it is only one piece of information that is examined as we work to support your child. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions!
A quick reminder: picture day is coming fast: Tuesday, September 24!
Last but not least, I wanted to share that we are beginning our emergency and fire drills this week. In addition to four traditional fire drills, we will be practicing an evacuation drill (to Canal View) a lockdown drill and a shelter-in-place drill, all within the next few weeks.
That's all for now--thanks for reading and for all of your continuous support!
Sincerely,
David Caiazza
Principal
