Greetings from Bernabi and Happy New Year!  I have some quick but important updates for you as we kick off the year, so thanks in advance for reading!

First up: Grab your calendars for some important January dates:
- Friday, January 10 we have a PBIS color connection assembly—have your children wear their grade level colors to school.
- Wednesday, January 15 is our new parent conference date and many (not all) of you have a conference between 3:45 and 6:45 pm!
- Friday, January 17 is our second half day of the school year.  Dismissal is now at 11:40 am and buses will leave Bernabi at 11:50.
- Monday, January 20 there is no school as we honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
- Friday, January 31 is our day to prepare for the Super Bowl—students can wear football jerseys or dress like cheerleaders.  #GoBills

Next: our lost and found has been overflowing since the start of the year.  While we’ve been fortunate to have some pretty mild weather to transition the calendar, I have to urge everyone to check your children’s closets for any missing sweatshirts, jackets, hats and gloves.  If you think something is missing, please stop into Bernabi and check out our collection in the front hallway.  As we do twice each year, items that remain at the end of this month will be donated.  Please, please check with your child ASAP!

Did you know that Bernabi is a satellite learning suite for Nazareth College?  For the third straight year, we are hosting site-based undergraduate education courses through Nazareth, and gain the incredible benefit of its students' need for field hours!  This particular semester, our 3-5 classrooms are hosting these students who are not shy about jumping into teaching and learning and supporting our students each day.  It is a truly incredible partnership that benefits all involved, students above all, and I am proud of the model we have created here that is being mimicked across the state!

I would like to end this week’s update with a link to December’s Bernabi Broadcast. Click here and enjoy!

Sincerely,

David Caiazza
