Greetings from Bernabi where time is flying!  Believe it or not, my first announcement this week is a reminder about the long weekend ahead.  Remember, there is no school for students this Friday, October 11 as faculty and staff have a Superintendent's Conference Day, and there is also no school on Monday, October 14 for the Columbus Day holiday.

Another quick but important reminder: report cards will be going digital this year!  We are excited to share that, beginning with the second term this school year (March), Spencerport Schools will be implementing new, digital report cards. This change offers an opportunity for families to receive their child(s) report cards quickly, in a more cost-effective and eco-friendly way. The easy-to-use system, known as Campus Backpack, will provide 24-hour access to grades through the existing Infinite Campus Portal.  Be sure to look for upcoming tutorials this fall (we have a great one for you!), with full implementation anticipated by March.

Earlier this week, your child should have brought home an important note outlining Fire Prevention Week.  As they do each year, the Spencerport Fire Department sponsored a community-wide Exit Drill in the Home (EDITH) last night.  If you did not have the chance to practice last evening, please find time as a family to practice this important exercise this weekend and send back the completed form to school on Tuesday.

Last but not least: below is a note from our incredible Bernabi Parents Association!

We are so excited to share that we sold $9060.82 worth of books at this year’s fall book fair, which earned the school a total of $4614.31 in "Scholastic Dollars!”  Scholastic Dollars are spent directly with Scholastic.  Mrs. Yu is planning to partner with the classroom teachers on spending those dollars, so that they can add to their classroom libraries.  Thank you to our many volunteers who supported this year’s book fair, we could not have gotten through the night without you!

Thank you one and all for your ongoing partnership!  Bernabi loves you!

Sincerely,

David Caiazza
